Kat Houseman was born in Great Falls Montana. She fell in love with western and wildlife art while living in Charlie Russell Country. She Attended Montana State University and received her Bachelor in Fine Art in 2004. Her studies at the university focused primarily on contemporary and modern art. Both art worlds influence her current work. Kat moved to Bellingham WA thirteen years ago. She works from a home studio primarily in oil and specializes in avian portraiture. The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful and inspiring place to be. Her work can be found in various galleries in Montana as well as Wyoming and Washington. She is excited to be participating in plein air fest at the National Museum of Wildlife Art this June in Jackson WY. Kat is thrilled to take part in the Schack Art Centers Fresh Paint festival and is honored to be chosen for the poster.
